On 5th May 2012, I set off on a very long walk: a complete circumnavigation of Wales on foot.
I hoped to raise at least £20,000 for Cancer Research Wales, in memory of my father, Gerry, who died in 2011 from stomach cancer.
My route took in the entire Welsh coastline, via the brand new Wales Coast Path, plus the Offa's Dyke Trail which runs close to the Wales-England border.
I completed my journey on 26th July, which would have been Dad's 58th birthday. I was the first person to walk the entire round-Wales circuit following the official opening of the Wales Coast Path.
Although my walk is complete, my fundraising will continue until I reach my target! Please consider donating.
If you're thinking about exploring the Welsh coast, or perhaps taking on the whole Path yourself, I hope you'll find the data and maps in the Route section helpful. If you'd like to talk to me about planning your own round-Wales adventure, just drop me a line.
Walking Wales was the single most inspiring experience of my life so far. I can't recommend it enough.
